Welcome to Umucyo Ministries in Rwanda

“Umucyo” is a Kinyarwandan word that means light; it literally means “Light Ministries.” This is a biblical word that is found in John 1:4 and exemplified for us in Ephesians 5:13-14.

Umucyo Ministries in Kigali, Rwanda is not just another inter-denominational church or ministry like those already existing, but rather a work born in a time of need to help people while God provided. It came out of great trial and prayer in the light of the state of the church with regard to the incredible challenges that faced the body of Christ in our nation in unlimited wars.

From the Heart of the Pastor John Kabagambe

“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 3:11)

Riches, knowledge, wisdom, great families, and best friends are good foundations that can be laid by some people in anticipation of a good life for  themselves and their loved ones, but it is often challenged spontaneously at an unknown time.

In Matthew 8:24, the disciples were suddenly upset by the great tempest that arose in the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. Our beloved, the world is like a sea and the boat is the way people improve their standard of living. The waves can suddenly find you in your way of improving the standard of living.

Listen! We need to live with Jesus as our unshakable foundation. Let not your heart be troubled- believe in GOD and believe also in Jesus Christ, for in Jesus was the life, and the life was the light (Umucyo) of men and the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it (John 1:4-6).

JESUS, HE IS THE REAL FOUNDATION!
